Melissa Young is the founder of Strategy Communications, LLC.  As an experienced public relations and communications professional, she leads the team in creating high performing initiatives with strong results.  

A veteran political strategist, Melissa has 20 years’ experience in presidential campaigns, statewide races and congressional contests.  After working in the U.S. Senate on Capitol Hill, she spent several years in government relations where she strategically promoted high-priority issues through coalition development, lobbying, speaking engagements and national radio, television & print interviews.  She has also worked with several Presidential campaigns on political, media and grassroots strategies.  

Ms. Young spent several years working for a premier Republican Media & Messaging firm as a Senior Strategist. She invested in public relations, political strategy and media campaigns for companies, candidates and independent expenditures.  Some of her efforts were on behalf of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tom Ridge for Governor, Santorum for Senate, Independent Expenditures for Marco Rubio for Senate, and Santorum for President 2012, among others.

Additionally, Ms. Young has consulted for national political action committees, national research and advocacy groups, statewide initiatives, and political campaigns.  She has provided oversight, strategy and communication in some of the most competitive environments.

Having earned her M.P.S. in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University, Ms. Young was honored as a nominee for the Henry D. Paley Award.  She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina where she graduated cum laude with a double-major in political science & speech communications. 

She lives with her husband and their three children in Columbia, SC.
